Agents Of SHIELD Season Finale Promo Signals "The End"

Our agents return for another season! They are likely behind the greenlit sixth season, as well. Channing Dungey remarked that she has no knowledge of if or how Infinity War will come into play on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6.

S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted in 2013 as the brainchild of Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Joss Whedon, who helped created the series in the wake of the success of The Avengers and directed the pilot. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season six will also be truncated in length with an order of only 13 episodes, rather than the 22-episode length of previous seasons. Still, don't think the show has been that great this season and wish the group was more involved with the MCU movies.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5 finale, "The End", airs Friday, May 18 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been on the bubble for months as one of ABC's lowest rated dramas now on air with the only two shows below it already being cancelled.

Could this be to avoid any spoiler conflict with Avengers 4?

Add to that, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is actually running concurrently to the events in Avengers: Infinity War and that may have an effect on the outcome of season 5 before going into season 6.

ABC's last remaining superhero series will remain on the network for an additional - albeit shortened - season: "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has been renewed for season six. Regardless, fans can breathe a sigh of relief that the series will indeed return, if in a more abbreviated form.
