The Premium is still running a Snapdragon 845 processor, but there's now 6GB of RAM (up from 4GB) to help with the extra performance demands. The rear imaging setup is a dual camera unit with a 19-Megapixel sensor alongside a 12-Megapixel monochrome sensor. These are very high, with the firm claiming that it makes way for ultra low-light capture previously only seen in interchangeable lens cameras. With this new addition to the flagship family, Xperia brings this highly advanced technology to the palm of your hand. Videos hit highs of 12,800 ISO. Select Bokeh [iii] and see your subject stand out from a defocused background, and take timeless photos in monochrome with a smooth gradation between black and white.

The Motion Eye™ Dual camera also features more professional features, such as 4K HDR Movie recording, so you can capture reality in incredible detail and true-to-life color.

On the front, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium bears a 13-megapixel camera with a 22mm wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, and a 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor. The "Premium" moniker means that the new XZ2 comes with high-end features including the 4K HDR Display. Thanks to this display you can enjoy your own 4K HDR content (since this is the only smartphone capable of both creating and viewing 4K HDR).

In terms of connectivity, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type C port for charging.

Sony has finally announced the Xperia XZ2 Premium which succeeds the Xperia XZ Premium. It has front facing stereo speakers. The phone also features something that we missed on this year's Xperia XZ2, i.e., a dual camera setup on the back. Sony has wrapped the XZ2 Premium in Gorilla Glass 5 front and back, with 3D glass for curved edges where they meet the metal frame.

You can only assess a phone up to a certain point just from a list of specs, but Sony has a good track record with displays and cameras, so this should be a handset worth checking out. The Sony XZ2 Premium smartphone to be available in two different color options, Chrome Black and Chrome Silver.

The phone is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU.

Powering the Xperia XZ2 Premium is a 3540 mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0 and wireless charging. But that's not stopping the electronics giant from adding a new model - the Xperia XZ2 Premium - to the mix.

Last week, it came to light that Sony's Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 would become available for pre-order via Best Buy, starting last Friday, while Amazon would start selling these handsets from May 20.
