The Shenmue collection will receive both a physical and digital release. Get ready to go on a thrilling voyage across faithful recreations of Japan and Hong Kong, China, in a timeless tale of revenge and mystery when Shenmue I & II launches both physically and digitally on Playstation 4 and XBOX One with a PC release on Steam in 2018. Pre-orders for the re-release are already live, but a final release date has yet to be announced.

It has been a few years since Shenmue 3 was first funded on Kickstarter, and while news has been slim, we did hear back in January that we should expect a release later this year. The games had a level of detail on par with current franchises such as Grand Theft Auto and Fallout.Keep in mind that they aren't complete remasters or remakes as originally rumoured.

All three upcoming versions of the series will follow Ryo Hazuki, a promising martial arts student on a quest to find out the person behind the murder of his father, and its possible connection to the mysterious artifact called the Dragon Mirror. The compilation comes with a host of modern features, including "fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface, and the option to enjoy either the original Japanese or English voiceovers".

We knew it was coming - Sega's been teasing us for a couple of years now - but this is the first time we've had definitive confirmation.
