"Night Court" star Harry Anderson dies at 65

The news was confirmed by the Asheville Police Department.

So sad! Beloved actor Harry Anderson has died at his home in North Carolina at the age of 65.

He appeared on Saturday Night Live on numerous occasions, which he managed to parlay into minor roles on sitcoms such as Cheers before he landed his own show, cast as Judge Harry Styles for nearly a decade on the hit NBC show "Night Court".

The celebrity was discovered dead from his Asheville, N.C.his dwelling on Monday morning in 6:41 a.m.an Asheville Police spokeswoman told Fox News. Police do not suspect foul play.

Anderson also had roles on "Cheers", "The John Larroquette Show" and "30 Rock", as well as 12 appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" to show off his magic skills. The series lasted four seasons on CBS.

Before "Night Court", Anderson played Harry, a small-time con man and semi-regular patron at the bar in "Cheers".

He's survived by 2 children and his wife, Elizabeth Morgan. He starred in several other TV specials and shows, including roles on "Saturday Night Live" and "Cheers". "I tip my hat to you, my friend". This is a tremendously sad end for an actor who has been known very much over the years for his ability to make viewers laugh.

Neil Patrick Harris revealed that he recently bought magic memorabilia from Anderson, including a phone booth with the actor's name on it.
