KKR posts 200-9 against DD in IPL

When the KKR face the Delhi Daredevils it would be on the back of their minds that a few things here and there and they could be back on track.

Nitish Rana was the other batting hero, essaying a crucial role of anchoring the innings.

Rana and Russell stitched together a 61-run partnership in just 22 balls for the fifth wicket. Russel hitting the deck hard and deviates the ball outside off stump.

It was a confusing approach after a positive start to the tournament: Gill and Mavi came in at seven and eight respectively while the latter was given just one over. Andre Russel also contributed with the bat scoring 41 runs of 12 balls which had 6 sixes. The team that was previously led by Gautam Gambhir, today is in the hands of Dinesh Karthik, and the team that played by Karthik ever, the head of that team is now serious.

Russell and Nitish Rana (59 off 35) blazed a fifth-wicket stand of 61 in just 22 balls as Kolkata racked up 200-9, a total they defended easily after Roy, Shreyas Iyer (4) and former KKR captain Gambhir (8), who rejoined Delhi in January, fell within the first three overs of the run chase.

Robin Uthappa was the first KKR batsman who really got going as he scored a 19-ball 35 to cancel out Delhi's early advantage.

Andre Russell's innings could have been a close contender for the Man of the Match title but it was Nitish Rana's steady performance that won him the award at the end.

I took a profit last time by backing the outsiders in the six hitting market and once again there's some good value here. They have won one match and lost two matches in this season.

Jason Roy, who was brought into the match against Mumbai in place of Colin Munro, will be looking to carry on the form after playing match winning knock in the last game.

It's also high time that Karthik backs his skill and makes an impact before questions are raised about his captaincy as he would be under vast pressure in one of the biggest tests of his career.

Kolkata Knight Riders have bated well and set the target as 200 runs from 20 Overs for Delhi Daredevils. On the changes front, we don't see changes for Delhi, unless a fit Chris Morris makes his way back for Dan Christian.
