After what feels like an eternity in development, Kingdom Hearts III seems like it might finally be ready to release in 2018, and as a result we're starting to get a look at gameplay for some of the game's new kingdoms. It's not exactly surprising that the mini-games will be featured in the series, but it's a nice nod to the classic Disney animation style and gaming ways of the past to include LCD-style games for players to experience. They are packed with a double dose of nostalgia, inspired by both classic Disney cartoons and 1980's LCD games.

The new trailer for the most-awaited video game features the Classic Kingdom.

Convention season is right around the corner, so we can expect to see a lot more of Kingdom Hearts 3 at these events. Still, the references to Game & Watch are clear, as the devices these mini games are played on even look like old Game & Watch handhelds.

Fans have been waiting for the release of the upcoming title ever since it was announced in 2013 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. When you consider that Kingdom Hearts 2 is turning 13 this year, it's hard to blame fans for getting a little antsy about KH3's release date. Which ones did you have?
