Oliver discussed the threat to the last Blockbuster store on the show before revealing his purchases.

The actor recently held a "divorce auction" on what would have been he and ex-wife Danielle Spencer's wedding anniversary. Items for bidding included what one TV news talent called the "groin protector" Crowe wore in Cinderella Man.

The HBO show also bought Crowe's director chair from American Gangster, the vest he wore in Les Miserables, and a hood he wore in Robin Hood.

"It was my jock strap when I won the heavyweight championship of the world as the character James J. Braddock in the film 'Cinderella Man, '" Crowe told Good Morning Britain.

"We did though", he said, before yelling the famous line from Crowe's "Gladiator": "Are you not entertained?".

As has been previously reported, Alaska is home to over 50% of the country's final Blockbuster stores. The jockstrap used in the boxing film was reportedly worth a range from $500 to $600, according to broker Sotheby's who would be holding Crowe's auction.

"I will admit, it does sound like something that we would do", Oliver said Sunday. "I'm sorry it wasn't us, we didn't buy it..." before he immediately added: "We did, we absolutely did!"

"To the manager of the only remaining Blockbuster in Anchorage, Alaska at 5600 Debarr Road #5 ... all of this s- is yours", Oliver said.

He made a call out on the show directed at the Debarr Blockbuster's management, giving them 48 hours to get in touch with Last Week Tonight producers, in order to claim the Crowe merchandise.
