Fired FBI Director Comey Calls Trump 'Morally Unfit to Be President'

Fired former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James Comey lashed out at Donald Trump in an interview with ABC broadcast on Sunday, calling him "morally unfit" to be President and describing him as a serial liar who will "stain everyone around him".

"Regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey", he said.

But Trump said in a tweet before the interview aired that he never asked for personal loyalty. "Even though our relationship is becoming strained, there's no way I'd be fired ... that's a insane thing to do", Comey said.

"Comey knew it all, and much more!".

"Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!"

Comey, 57, who was unceremoniously fired by the U.S. president in May a year ago, in a wide-ranging interview to ABC News warned that "The foundation of this country is in jeopardy when we stop measuring our leaders against that central value of the truth".

For now, these are the two major Comey camps: In one, he's the noble steward who sacrificed himself in the name of justice, and in the other he's a bungler so concerned with his own reputation that he essentially meddled in an election himself while trying to look unbiased.

"It was very sad", McEnany said in an interview on Cheddar.

He said that he believes there is "certainly some evidence of obstruction of justice".

Fired FBI director James Comey gave an in-depth interview to ABC that was broadcast on Sunday night.

"It's possible, but I don't know".

Comey said his reaction to the news was disbelief.

Comey said he was in fact surprised he was sacked as FBI director while he was spearheading the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election. Mueller's team is investigating Russian involvement in the 2016 USA presidential election.

There's the forensic recounting of their meetings in which, among other things, he says Trump requested loyalty and pressed him to drop an investigation into disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump has changed the Republican Party for the worse, Comey said.

Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership, has been on Amazon bestseller lists for the past four weeks and, as of Monday morning, is No. 20 on the retailer's top non-fiction sales. After Clinton's loss, many Democrats blamed Comey, and Clinton herself has said it hurt her election prospects.

Comey's ouster came as the FBI investigated alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between Moscow and Trump's campaign.

President Donald Trump suggested earlier this week that Comey should be put behind bars and accused him of leaking classified information and lying to Congress. "I don't know." He did not offer any proof that Russian Federation has anything on Trump.
