The Chelsea Player of the Year nominee scored what turned out to be the victor when he converted a pass by Emerson Palmeri in the 69th minute.

Victor Moses grabbed the winner, having already provided the cross which led to Kevin Long's first-half own-goal, with Ashley Barnes having earlier equalised thanks to a fortuitous deflection off his heel. Ashley Barnes equalised on 66 minutes thanks to a more fortunate deflection for the home side, before Moses slotted in the victor.

Alvaro Morata looked unlikely to join in any celebrations though, missing a sitter at 1-0 and fuming when he was replaced by Eden Hazard.

Sean Dyche highlighted Burnley's growing mentality after they produced a spirited fightback in Thursday's defeat to Chelsea.

Moses who now boasts of three Premier League goals this term would be hoping to help the Roman Army into the FA Cup final when they tackle Southampton on Sunday.

The gap to Spurs is now down to five points with four games left to play and Conte is sure his men deserved the win at Burnley. Like Chelsea were in the first half, when at their best this season, Burnley are far from subtle; they rely on their strikers to battle for every ball and try to get their midfield as close the them as possible.

Chelsea has defeated Burnley 2-1 in their English Premier League match this morning.

Conte was pleased with how Chelsea played against a hard opponent, and also praised the two-man strikeforce of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, which gave Burnley trouble throughout Thursday's game.

Replays later showed that Pope may have gotten the slightest of touches on the striker's shot. "They (Morata and Giroud) did a great job, as did the whole team".

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is expected to make changes to the Chelsea starting lineup ahead of this weekend's FA Cup Semi-Final against Southampton. It is not easy when you are a goal down to come out and take the game on and I felt we did that.

"Tonight I saw a great team spirit".
