The Justice League actor has had the facial hair for quite some time now and joked about people maybe not recognizing him as a result of being clean shaven once again. But it will certainly not be forgotten, especially by the British actor himself.

The solution was to CGI his 'stache out of the movie entirely, and although there might be a relatively natural way to do that with advanced technology, the people behind Justice League chose to go for the most downright ridiculous method, making Cavill, an objectively good looking man, look like a downright fool.

The DC Extended Universe's very own Man of Steel, Henry Cavill has taken to social media to bid farewell to his controversial yet magnificent looking mustache that brought about its fair share of controversy amongst fans while simultaneously filming for his role in the upcoming Misson Impossible: Fallout and the reshoots for last year's Justice League. A bathrobe-clad Cavill delivers the deadpan tribute from his dressing room, where he appears newly clean-shaven. Today, however, Cavill shaved off his mustache, revealing his bare face to the world. It's hard to recognise me without KingStache. "Sometimes, I even have trouble recognizing myself", Cavill says in a voiceover.

Cavill then gets a little Brokeback about his 'stache: "It's hard for me to admit: this is not CGI. I will remember him... always", Cavill concludes, leading into a heart-wrenching video montage of photos showing Cavill and KingStache together.

Mission Impossible 6 comes out July 27, and presently, Henry Cavill's calendar is pretty clear, so it remains to be seen where he will pop up next.
