OnePlus 5 Gets Android 8.1 Through Open Beta 6 Update

Talking about the new open beta, it is supposed to bring the most recent version of the Android operating system: the Android 8.1 Oreo update.

OnePlus hasn't said how many betas there will be before the stable version rolls out, but where this is the sixth beta, it should be rolling out pretty soon. Once in the beta, you'll continue to receive updates from the beta. It has also fixed the previous problems encountered by the device as security patches, gesture navigation along with a trickle of other updates. It also comes packed with general bug fixes and improvements. For reference, the codename for OnePlus 5 and 5T is "cheeseburger" and "dumpling" respectively. This might allow users to experience an immersive gaming experience which also includes turning off power saving and adaptive brightness, apart from blocking the notification as well.


If you are a OnePlus 5 user on the beta program, there is some good news.

An additional benefit for users is to migrate application backup data for One Plus 5T users by downloading OnePlus Switch application. In case you are facing major bugs, you can give the feedback on the OnePlus feedback forums. It can be downloaded from the OnePlus website. The update is 1.63GB in size. Mac users can rely on Android File Transfer for this part. OnePlus made its name creating handsome phones with terrific specs, sold for a fraction ... In order to do this, shut down the phone device and turn it back on while holding the power and volume down buttons simultaneously.


Choose "Install from internal storage/Install from local", find your.zip file and click on "Install" to confirm. The update will be available over-the-air (OTA) for those users who have already flashed a previous Open Beta build. When users operated this newly introduced beta version they were surprised to see a much-improved version of Fruit Phone X-like gesture navigation in their OnePlus smartphones.
