Stick 'em in cupboards under the stairs, as creator JK Rowling and franchise veteran director David Yates proved with 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them there was still lots of magic left in the Harry Potter franchise even without the eponymous bespectacled young wizard.

Now the first trailer for the upcoming film has been released and fans finally get to see Jude Law portraying Hogwarts headteacher Albus Dumbledore in action. But to know what this means actually, you will have to wait till November. We only see one quick shot of Grindelwald, but perhaps that is on goal, because of the increasing backlash against star Johnny Depp, who plays him in the movies. The trailer for the sequel has arrived and it will excite all Harry Potter fans because it shows off Hogwarts.

The opening scene of the trailer shows a group of unidentified visitors, who apparate onto the Hogwarts ground for a meeting with Law, who they believe has sanctioned Scamander to go to France.

The first teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is out!

Giving fans a touch of nostalgia with the sweeping landscape vistas of Hogwarts, the trailer kicks off with a glimpse of the iconic school which first graced the big screen in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone back in 2001 and was the main setting for the boy wizard during his adventures.

At the end of the first film, we see Grindelwald captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), but two years on the powerful wizard has managed to escape custody and is gathering followers. He had a cameo in the first Fantastic Beasts movie during the climax. We are then given peeks into both new and returning characters including Scamander's love interest Porpetina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), his "no-maj" friend Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler), Queenie (Alison Sudol), Leta Lestrange (Zoë Kravitz) and Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller) who seems to have survived his death from the last film.
