The URI Rams will be a 7 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament and face 10th seeded Oklahoma in the first round on Thursday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Oklahoma will go as far as Trae Young carries them, so it will try to see if he can carry it past a first-round game against Rhode Island.

Rhode Island is in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year after advancing to the second round last year before falling to Oregon.

Not having Middle Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament is wrong for a lot of wrongs.

According to an article by Doug Feinberg, an Associated Press basketball writer, in today's editions of the Oklahoma City Oklahoman, the Sooners are one of eight teams in consideration for the final four spots in the NCAA Women's Tournament.

Oklahoma owns an 18-13 record behind the fifth-highest-scoring offense in the country, averaging 85.2 points per game. Texas was 8-11 in Quadrant 1 and Quadrant 2 games. Young was also named a Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year finalist, a Naismith Trophy semifinalist and selected for the national ballot for the Wooden Award. Hurley has coached the Rams to consecutive 25-win seasons, a feat never accomplished before at Rhode Island. Earlier Sunday the Rams lost to Davidson, 58-57 in the Atlantic 10 Championship game.
