"He wants to spend $25, $30 billion on a wall that will lead to absolutely nothing but more deaths", Vargas said. "And that's more than just a figure of speech", Brown wrote in a letter to Trump on Monday.

When Donald Trump visits San Diego to examine prototypes of the border wall, the president will be landing in the largest city on the U.S. -Mexico border to formally oppose his plans. "Your continuing success is essential to the success of our national economy".

The border wall has been a signature issue for Trump in his determination to stop illegal immigration. "Here in cities like Fresno and Madera, more than a dozen bridges and viaducts are being built for the nation's first and only high-speed rail line", Brown wrote. California added nearly 3 million jobs since the recovery began.

"You have lamented that "we don't have one fast train" in our country". "Under this premise we will continue working constructively on the bilateral relationship with the United States".

He said that California's "prosperity is not built on isolation".

Protests are also being planned across the border in Tijuana, Mexico on Tuesday when Trump will examine eight, 30-foot-tall prototypes built along the global border to fulfill his signature campaign promise.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions spoke with officials in Sacramento last week, frankly stating "California, we have a problem" after the mayor of Oakland warned illegal immigrants of impending ICE raids; resulting in almost 800 undocumented workers who evaded federal agents during the sweeps.

President Trump has said the fight against illegal immigration, especially with unsafe gangs like MS-13, is going well, but no thanks to California.

He went on to say, "We invite you to come aboard and truly 'Make America Great Again'".

KIrk pointed out that numerous lawsuits against Trump have originated in California, the state is intentionally harboring illegal immigrant criminals and the mayor of Oakland even issued a public warning about impending Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

California is also where the Trump administration has erected the prototypes for its proposed border wall - and it is that site that will be the main focus of Trump's excursion to the Left Coast.
