BARCELONA would welcome Neymar back with open arms, according to Philippe Coutinho.

And his words echoed the thoughts of team-mate Ivan Rakitic, who recently spoke of his willingness to reunite with Neymar.

Neymar left Barca for Paris Saint-Germain for €222 million last August, but Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that he wants to return to Camp Nou in the wake of the French side's elimination from the Champions League this week.

Marco Ruiz of Spanish daily AS on Monday wrote that a meeting between Real, Neymar Sr. and the player's lawyers recently took place in Paris, where it's said to have been agreed €400 million (£354 million) would be enough to sign the Brazil worldwide. "I would always put Neymar in my team".

The 30-year-old told reporters: "Neymar's not said anything to me but if it was up to me, I would open the door for him to come back right now".

While the rumours surrounding a player of his standing will continually spiral, given the amount of highly publicised rifts Neymar Jr has already been involved in at the club, it is not inconceivable that he will try to force a move back to Spain sooner rather than later. The subsequent injury of Neymar and how events have evolved since - heading to Brazil for the operation and avoiding PSG - have got their leader somewhat anxious.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will travel to Brazil in the next few days to meet Neymar and discuss his future, amid claims he could be allowed to return to La Liga this summer.
