As such, they're full of performance issues and are, well, just not all that fun to play.

Even though Tomb Raider: Anniversary is already a thing on Steam, which is basically a remake of the very first Tomb Raider game, with a revamped story, retouched graphics etc. This update includes support for new controllers (such as Xbox), as well as better shadows, lighting and textures.

Less excitingly, the remasters are based on the mobile versions of the original three Tomb Raider games.

Steam users will soon be able to tuck into remastered versions of Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider II, and Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft.

The developer has not revealed any specific release dates or windows for the Tomb Raider remasters.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show last month, Vikander had addressed the notorious body shape of Croft in the first video games. There's a good reason for this, as Realtech aren't touching the assets, but simply sprucing up the game engine.

The video game character is one of the most iconic of all time - and was previously played by Angelina Jolie in two movies at the turn of the millennium.

A set release date has not been announced yet by the developers, but they are saying at least that they have already finished porting the first two games and are now working on the third installment.

The port is relying on Steam because we won't provide game data.

TR1-3 remaster for PC are planned for Steam for free and will requires the purchase of the DOS version being sold on Steam (like ZDoom playing Doom games). As always, stay tuned for anything gaming-related!
