A key cog in India's pace attack, the 27-year-old was left out of the list of contracted players unveiled by the BCCI on Wednesday but the board did not offer any immediate explanation as to why. Hasin Jahan also accused Shami of abusing her physically and mentally after which she also filed a complaint against him. Yes, we are well aware about the sensitive situation and we are having discussions with top BCCI officials. "It's a tri-partite agreement between the player, the franchise and the BCCI". Following Hasin Jahan's allegations against her husband, the BCCI has put his annual contract on hold.

"Ordinarily you would distinguish and say that (the allegation) is a personal issue and the contract is a professional issue", Rai told the ESPN Cricket website.

Talking about another allegation in which his wife alleged that Shami might be cheating nation, he said that "I am ready to die but can not cheat nation".

"I think BCCI should not withhold Mohammed Shami's contract as the issue has nothing to do with cricket and also he has not been found guilty yet", the minister said. I have full faith in the BCCI.

A case was registered against India fast bowler Mohammad Shami at Jadhavpur police station in Kolkata under several sections of IPC including 498 A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband and his relatives, on complaint of his wife Hasin Jahan.

"Look Daredevils management can't take any unilateral decision in this matter".

A senior police officer confirmed that under Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Shami will be sent a notice and will have to appear before investigators.

Shami's mother Anjuman Ara Begum, sister Sabina Anjum, brother Mohammad Hasib Ahmed and his wife Shama Parveen were also booked. "We have filed police complaint at Lalbazar Police Headquarters".
