After mounting concerns, Starbreeze Studios and Overkill Software have clarified that Payday 2 on Nintendo Switch will be around eight months behind updates that have been released for other platforms at launch. The full original game will still be there, and obviously supported with multiplayer, so players won't be, ahem, robbed of the experience.

Over the last few days, the Payday 2 the Nintendo Switch subReddits have been having lots of discussions about the state of the upcoming game on Nintendo Switch.

Further, Starbreeze noted that PS4 and Xbox One versions are nearly the same as the PC version, while the Switch is 'close behind.' Starbreeze, however, assured that there are plans for future content updates for Nintendo Switch. But of course, not all games on the Switch are created to make full use of the console's gaming ways and one title worth mentioning is DOOM.

The gaming industry has been doing quite well in recent months, with much of that strong performance coming thanks to the Nintendo Switch which is still dominating sales.

The confirmation comes after a thread on Reddit, titled "Please do not buy Payday 2 for Switch". "PS4 and Xbox One received one additional update after that, the "Master Plan' update, which released near the end of 2017". There are future content updates planned for Switch, as well". To do this they had to go with the content ported and available at the time of console submission. Payday 2 will be no different. But, considering their track record with the PS4 and Xbox One versions, Switch owners may have to wait for several months for the updates. The title offers a total of 50 heists, 17 playable characters, 190 weapons and 280 masks.
