Hilda Spellman, one of Sabrina's two witch aunts, is to be played by British actress Lucy Davis, known for her work on the United Kingdom version of The Office and 2017's live action Wonder Woman. Compared to Zelda (Sabrina's other aunt), Hilda is more nurturing and motherly, but don't let that fool you into thinking she isn't capable of wicked things.

Michelle Gomez, who played Missy in the Peter Capaldi era of the time travelling British sci-fi show, has joined the cast of "Sabrina" as Madam Satan, an evil demon that possesses Sabrina's teacher Mary Wardell.

Davis is widely known for her role in "The Office", while "Green Wing" fans will recognise Gomez as the highly inappropriate staff liason officer, Sue.

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot will reimagine the Archie Comics, so is likely to be slightly darker than the Nickelodeon version of the series.

But now it turns out that the series have found their Aunt Hilda.

What do you think about Lucy Davis playing Aunt Hilda in the new Sabrina series?

She is also apparently "as adept at brewing spite jars against her family's enemies as she is at concocting love potions for the students at Baxter High". Sabrina will be played by Kiernan Shipka who will likely bring us a fresher and more modern take on the character, who was portrayed for years by Melissa Joan Hart. That said, current speculation surrounding the plot of Wonder Woman 2 wouldn't leave one to assume Davis' role will be quite as large as the first film (if she appears at all).

Now that the two shows are on different networks, It remains to be seen if there will be any formal association between Riverdale and the Sabrina series.

Sabrina The Teenage Witch is expected to premiere on Netflix in late 2018.

The upcoming Netflix Sabrina adaptation has no release date as of yet.
