In the book, Bannon voiced astonishment over the meeting that Trump Jr., the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Manafort attended at Trump Tower in NY with a Russian lawyer, who was said to be offering damaging information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential candidate.

Mr Bannon is chairman of Breitbart News, and his comments caused a key Bannon backer, Rebekah Mercer, the billionaire Republican party donor and Breitbart co-owner, to distance her family from him. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) asked Trump if he would support "a clean DACA bill now, with a commitment that we go into a comprehensive immigration reform procedure", and Trump replied, "Yeah, I would like to do that".

Bannon was quoted as saying he was certain Trump Jr. would have taken the Russians who took part in the meeting to meet his father.

"CNN has been extraordinarily biased, extraordinarily unfair to the president and is not giving their viewers honest information", Miller said.

"Here' what we know is true", said Carlson, adding, "There was a video apparently taken without your knowledge of you on the set after the segment ended during the commercial break and someone - apparently from CNN, I don't know who else would have access to it - leaked that to other news organizations".

Miller got a lot of attention over the weekend when he flew off the handle during his interview with Jake Tapper. "Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!"

In a series of tweets dispatched Saturday morning from the frigid Maryland woods, where he was huddling with congressional leaders at Camp David, Trump, 71, declared himself a "very stable genius" and "like, really smart".

"I've had to put up with the Fake News from the first day I announced that I would be running for President".

Michael Wolff, who wrote "Fire and Fury", spoke Sunday with Katy Tur on MSNBC. Holt responded by moving up the release date from January 9 to last Friday. "He left on his own will", Gidley said on Monday afternoon.
