Speaking to a gathering of foreign journalists on Wednesday evening, Netanyahu said he was disappointed that India voted in favor of the resolution at the UN General Assembly condemning the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"I don't think it can influence the relationship".

India's ties with the Jewish state have been in focus as India voted at the United Nations General Assembly last month against the USA recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The Indian Army and the government are discussing ways to revive a $500 million order to buy Spike anti-tank guided missiles from Israel's state-owned defense contractor Rafael, according to military chief Bipin Rawat.

During his terms in office as prime minister - in 1996-1999 and from 2009 till now - Netanyahu has visited Russian Federation 12 times.

The Ambassador mentioned Israel's support to the Indian candidate for the International Court of Justice, Judge Dalveer Bhandari, last year.

Netanyahu will be leading a high-profile delegation comprising 130 businessmen from 102 Israeli companies drawn from areas like agriculture, water, cyber security, health care and security on his four day trip to India starting January 14.

Carmon said 11-year Moshe Holtzberg will also accompany Netanyahu and participate in a function at the Chabad House in Mumbai.
