In his packed schedule for the second half of the day, Netanyahu paid homage to the victims of 2008 Mumbai terror attack at the hotel and visit the Chabad House in Nariman House, along with the 11-year old survivor Moshe Holtzberg.

Visiting Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hosted a power-breakfast and held discussions with a select group of top Indian CEOs, industrialists and bankers here on Thursday morning.

Netanyahu, who arrived in New Delhi on a six-day visit on January 14, has attended several events in the country.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu confirmed to a local Indian TV channel that a defence deal with Israeli defence company Rafael worth half a billion USA dollars was "back on the table".

"When I spoke to Prime Minister Modi, I saw he was doing exactly that (what I did)". The private sector does the heavy lifting in the economy and the only way to empower it is through "lower, simple and easy taxes", he said.


He also stressed the need to remove barriers to competition and empower private enterprises to achieve higher growth. These are among the 15 countries that are ranked higher than Israel on the index of competitiveness.

Talking about Isrel investing in the Bollywood industry, Netanyahu said that Israel has already invested 4 million shekels (Israeli currency) in Bollywood. "We had a general discussion on Indo-Israel cooperation".

Joshi said Prime Minister Netanyahu leads a nation that is no stranger to volatility. He shared Israel's economic successes and said India was on the right path.


Asked about Netanyahu's comment, Trump told Reuters in an interview that was not the case. "So I want all the Bollywood celebrities, producers and stars to join together for a selfie", he said.

"Winning does not have to be exclusive".

Netanyahu's address was listened to by Prime Minister Modi who sat along with EAM Sushma Swaraj in the special front row. "This is just the beginning", he said. "To quote from the movie Casablanca, this is the beginning of a new friendship, of our wonderful ancient relationship", Netanyahu said.
