Samsung had a relatively discreet presence at CES 2018, despite rumors from a couple of months back that the Galaxy S9 could make a surprise Las Vegas appearance this week ahead of a commercial March rollout.

Samsung is all set to launch it's next flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S9 next month at Mobile World Congress 2018.

Samsung could start production of the said phones by November, reports The Investor, citing industry sources who also said that Samsung has finalized its specifications and production plans for the foldable device. Shared on Reddit, this box confirms numerous previously leaked details of the S9, as well as sheds light on some new information.

Samsung has actually already debuted a variable aperture camera on the Chinese W2018 flip phone, so this is a distinct possibility.

Just like last year's model, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature an iris scanner and it will be water resistant.

Alongside the Super Speed technology, the leaked image shows that the Galaxy S9 camera will come with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and have two different aperture sizes - f/1.5 and f/2.4.

Koh's recent statements seem to corroborate an earlier leak that showed that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ would likely be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 platform from Qualcomm and that the devices would be announced in February.

Elsewhere, the Galaxy S9 is also said to house stereo speakers tuned by AKG. On the front there will be an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus. The phone will have 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and wireless charging support.

The update comes with software version ZRA5 and as you would expect, it brings a series of bug fixes, performance improvements and system stability. We can expect more leaks revealing photos and specs in coming weeks. At the bottom, we also have "Earphones tuned by AKG", which coincides with a few reports we've heard thus far.
