Porn Stars and Shitholes: 'SNL' Asks 'What Even Matters Anymore?'

In a sketch on last night's Saturday Night Live, Jessica Chastain portrayed game show host Veronica Elder on the fictional game show "What Even Matters Anymore?".

Prior to Chastain's hosting duties on Saturday, the actress revealed that she was nervous about the gig, but also shared the advice that Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot and comedian Amy Schumer had given to her before, on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

Chastain then went on to credit the women who marched Saturday through unsafe conditions. "So today hundreds of thousands of people were out there and they were so, so courageous - because it's flu season". "And they are so, so fearless because it's the worst flu season ever". "I wish I could have been there, marching alongside them", Chastain said.

By the end of the sketch, McKinnon tells Chastain, not her fictional character Veronica, "Jessica, you don't have to do this".

McKinnon adds, "Yeah. Yeah".

Chastain then declares: "Girls ... let's tell 'em what's up". "And thank you endlessly @nbcsnl for having me".

"Don't tie me down 'cause I'd never stay". "I usually say lines like". Leslie Jones asks before grabbing a hat and walking off.

"Yeah, we love women", Pete Davidson chimed in.

The actors try to console Chastain - though, as has been the case with most of us watching in horror as Trump keeps doing awful things with no repercussions - it's unsuccessful.

Bennett then goes on to "mansplain" his thoughts.

So I think she's going to be incredible as a host.

Watch the full skit above.

It's both refreshing and honestly a bit groundbreaking to see music this unapologetically gay on a show as major and indelible as Saturday Night Live.
