This film has taken some unbelievable political turns as Rajput vote bank is very big in this country and that's precisely why Vasundhara Raje banned the film in Rajasthan so that she can secure Rajput votes in next election. However, the makers can now sigh a bit in relief as Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has given a green signal to the film's release.

At least 159 activists of the Rajasthan-based Karni Sena were arrested on Friday while protesting outside the Central Board of Film Certification's office here against the clearance given to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavat", earlier titled "Padmavati". On one hand CBFC has cleared the film with an U/A Certificate to make sure it gets a wide release and several Indian states are banning this 200 crore giant audio visual production over breakfast. The film's release was opposed by fringe groups on the accusation of distorting historical facts.

"We had banned the film's release before polls, and that order still stays".

He claimed that six states have announced a ban on the movie. The film is finally up for release on January 25th when Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor's film will clash with Akshay Kumar-Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor starrer "PadMan" in midst of protests by Karni Sena demanding a ban on the film.

However, Justice Sandeep Mehta refused to pass an order on the petition before watching the film and asked Bora to arrange for a special screening for the court.

Asked if the film would be banned in Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan told reporters, "Jo kaha tha, wo hoga (What I had said, will happen)". "We have not revoked it, hence there is no question of the film being released in the state", he said.
