Acting icon Jane Fonda has been slammed as a hypocrite by a Megyn Kelly after refusing to discuss her plastic surgery during a TV interview past year (17).

According to Kelly, the question about cosmetic surgery was fair because Fonda had come on her program to promote a program about "older women".

Kelly said her question about plastic surgery was appropriate because Fonda was promoting "Our Souls at Night", a film about aging.

The comment prompted Jane to glare at her pal, firing back, "Who are you, Megyn Kelly?" as Lily smiled and remarked, "Oh, that's right, I forgot she was the one!"

"I read that you said you're not proud to admit you've had work done", Kelly questioned.

"This is is a woman whose name is synonymous with outrage", Megyn told viewers. The fact that Fonda was against the war in Vietnam. Kelly said Fonda's radio broadcasts "attempted to shame American troops".

"She posed on an anti-aircraft gun used to shoot down our American pilots, she called our POW's hypocrites and liars, and referred to their torture as 'understandable'". But not for the rest of it.

Kelly added: "By the way she still says she's not proud of America". The Hollywood legend shut down Kelly after being asked about her plastic surgery, later explaining that it was "the wrong time and place to ask that question". "Honestly, she has no business lecturing anyone on what qualifies as offensive".

Apparently, being made the butt of a joke on her own network was the last straw for Kelly who comes out swinging in this clip. She later publicly apologized for her actions. It's comparable to the Godwin's law corollary that referring to someone as "Hitler" generally ends a discussion (and not in a good way), and Kelly may hope she can end the feud this way.

Academy-Award Winning Actress Jane Fonda speaks at GCAPP "Eight Decades of Jane" in celebration of Jane Fonda's 80th birthday at The Whitley on December 9, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.

"Whenever possible I try to sit down with vets and talk with them, because I understand and it makes me sad", she said at an event in Frederick, Maryland in 2015.

Jane Fonda's representative didn't immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment, and the star didn't post anything on social media in reference to Kelly's comments. Why, after all, didn't Kelly present these critiques of Fonda during that September interview?
