Lebanese designer under fire for praising 'flawless' Gal Gadot

Gal ended her acceptance speech by addressing female-led movements in and around Hollywood, the actress dedicated her award to those fighting for change. She's full of heart, strength, compassion and forgiveness.

But actress Gal Gadot, 32, became friendly rivals with Patty, 46, as they went head-to-head in a lively game of Charades on Late Night With on Thursday. In doing so, she sets a positive example for humanity", Gadot said, adding that the character "struggles with her own love and hopes.


Wonder Woman stormed the box office upon its release in June, amassing a domestic haul of $412 million on its way to an $821 million worldwide gross, making the film one of the most successful of the year.

When Gadot was originally announced as the recipient in December, the Association of National Advertisers - which sponsored the award - called her a "powerful voice advocating for women, not only on screen as the iconic Wonder Woman but in life as well".

The mum-of-two received a standing ovation and thanked the critics "for this fantastic honor and recognition" and her "friend and sister" Patty for the award.


Gadot also expressed support for the current movement of people speaking out against harassment in Hollywood and beyond. She dedicated her award to "all the women and men who stand for what's right: standing for those who can't stand or speak for themselves".

She continued, promising that she "will never be silenced". "We will continue to band together to make strides uniting for equality".

In addition to Gadot's tribute, Wonder Woman received three Critics" Choice nominations and won the award for "Best Action Movie'.


The first SeeHer Award was presented past year to Viola Davis.
