Kamala Mills: Hotelier held for sheltering 1 Above pub owners

Karia, who was arrested on Tuesday, had promised the accused that he will "do the setting" and get them out of the case. The third partner, Abhijeet Mankar, was arrested early on Thursday morning, confirmed Mumbai police spokesperson Deepak Devraj.

Mumbai police spokesperson said they would be produced before the Bhoiwada court on Thursday.

The co-owners have been absconding since the fire incident, a reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced for any information on them.

Police recovered a high-end vehicle of Mankar, which was found parked at Kariya's place, he said.

During the interrogation, the hotelier revealed that he sheltered the trio at his residence.

Police booked the Sanghvi brothers, Mankar and others under IPC sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).

Earlier, the owners of "1 Above" had written to the President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Mumbai Police Commissioner and the chief of the city's civic body, demanding that the matter be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). They were crossing the road in Badra, when the Police, which had been positioned their, spotted them, gave chase and apprehended the brothers. "There is every possibility that during removal of lighted charcoal from the segree (stove) and or transferring it into Hookah or during the fanning of the charcoal the flying burning embers came in contact with the combustible curtains/decorative material nearby and started the fire", the report stated, according to the Press Trust of India.
