Israel to invest Dollars 68.6 million to boost cooperation with India

A warm welcome awaits Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu when the two visit the former's home state likely on January 17, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said today.

Prime Minister Modi's visit was a very important milestone in that.

Bala Bhaskar, the Joint Secretary WANA (West Africa and North Africa) division in India's foreign ministry, said "India and Israel's bilateral relationship has been expanding in the areas of agriculture, water, science and technology, innovation, start-up, space, education, culture, homeland security and defence", since the establishment of diplomatic ties.

The bilateral trades between the two countries is 5 billion U.S. dollar.


Israel is looking at enhancing trade ties with India in a major way.

"These issues have set mechanism". Ties between the two countries have flourished in numerous realms in recent years.

Israel's Saare Tzedek hospital would be signing an agreement with India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as well.

Netanyahu finally held up his drawing, Suchard looked and said, "I was completely wrong".


Modi would be accompanying Netanyahu to Gujarat on Wednesday where he will be welcomed in the same fashion as Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was with a "road show" in Ahmedabad.

"The Prime Minister's visit to India is the grand finale to the celebrations of 25 years of Growing Partnership between India and Israel. The visit will focus on the progress made between India and Israel since Prime Minister Modi's visit to Israel last summer, and on shaping the next 25 years of relations between our countries and our peoples".

A packed schedule on Thursday for the Israeli Prime Minister in Mumbai would include a "power breakfast" with Indian business leaders, a business seminar, attending two memorial services for the victims of Mumbai terror attacks at the Taj hotel and Nariman House and finally a gala event with Bollywood actors, directors and producers. "The Prime Minister will reach out to Bollywood in an exclusive "Shalom Bollywood" event", the statement read.
