Instagram is known for mimicking Snapchat by introducing features those are seen in the latter in its own platform.

Twitter users have also reported seeing this feature on their app.

Meanwhile, Instagram recently made its Stories feature a little more accessible for those who don't have the Instagram app on their phone. This feature is said to be under testing and that it will be rolled out to all the users globally in the coming weeks.

Facebook is now running a test on a feature that will allow users to upload a picture or video to their Stories directly from your desktop. This feature was initially spotted in December 2017 in Japan and now it is likely being tested within a select group of users in Europe.

You will find a new option called Type, swiping right in your Instagram feed to open the Camera.

After typing a text, you can customize the story, choosing a font and a nice background color.

Reports suggest that users will also have the option of using a photo for the background instead of settling for the bright ombre background shown in the video. You can do that by adding text, and choosing the color gradient that you want on top of your background image.

Instagram also appears to be testing a feature that will snitch on you if you snap a screenshot of someone's Story, according to WABetaInfo.

Just days ago, Instagram seemingly began beta testing a "Type" text stories feature in the app.

According to the report, Instagram won't send a notification to the user when someone takes a screenshot of their Story for the very first time. Now, like Snapchat, the feature will be expanded to public stories as well. It looks like a lot of users have been posting text-only Stories that it may have prompted Instagram to create a new feature that's dedicated to it. The second time, the person who posted the Story will be notified.
