The January transfer window is typically mild compared to its summer counterpart, but this particular winter window has been rather active, especially for Liverpool.

With the 24-year-old seemingly headed for the Anfield exit, Liverpool's top brass have turned their heads towards Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka.

The German worldwide is out of contract at the end of the season and Schalke have accepted defeat in their efforts to keep him at the club.

"We are very happy that Leon Goretzka has made a decision to join Bayern, despite considerable competition from overseas", said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Juventus are now the front runners for the German midfielder, who can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club. "This ensures that Leon Goretzka will remain in the Bundesliga".

Liverpool would love to keep someone like Can, but talks between the two sides have reportedly stalled because of the German midfielder's insistence to insert a release clause into any new contract.

The Reds are long-term admirers of the midfielder, while Bayern and Manchester United have also expressed interest.

Liverpool have been handed a major blow as one of their midfield targets is heading to Bayern Munich, it has been confirmed.

Can is also on Bayern's radar and he could make a return to the Allianz Arena. It was announced over the summer that Keita would join the club on July 1, 2018, but with Coutinho gone, Klopp offered to pay an additional fee to bring the player over early. I just concentrate on the scene, on my performance and the football.
