Following the recent loss of Brazilian Superstar, Neymar, Barcelona has revived activities by extending Gerard Pique Contract to June 30, 2022.

He remains a key figure at the heart of Barca's defence, making 27 appearances this season for the La Liga leaders.

And he has proved his worth at the Catalan club, winning six La Ligas, five Copa del Reys, five Spanish Super Cups, three Champions League titles, three Fifa Club World Cups and two Uefa Super Cups.

Having begun his career at Barca, Pique made his debut for the first team in 2008 after spending time with English club Manchester United, where he learnt his trade under Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Gerard Pique has played 421 games for Barça and scored 37 goals".

Gerard Pique has committed his long-term future to Barcelona by putting pen to paper on a new deal until 2022.

He has also won the World Cup and European Championship with Spain.

The Spain global has spent the last 10 years representing the Blaugrana and has now agreed to an extension that will run until the summer of 2022.

Meanwhile, Barcelona now tops the Spanish League with nine points leads over Atletico Madrid.
