By Thursday night, 1 to 2 inches of rain is in the forecast for most of the North Bay, with about a half-inch to 1 inch of rain falling in the rest of the Bay Area, the weather service said. Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 13.

Widespread rain across the region will transition to freezing rain and sleet this afternoon as temperatures plummet.

According to the weather service, the average high temperature for January 11 is just 31 degrees.

Snow is expected to continue Friday night, with less than an inch accumulation, and skies will turn mostly cloudy.
