The pair are being targeted as Blues boss Antonio Conte looks to bring in a centre-forward to bolster his attacking options and a left-back to provide cover and competition for Marcos Alonso.

According to Sky Sports, reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are edging closer to a deal to sign Roma striker Edin Dzeko and defender Emerson Palmieri.

Roma have lowered their demands to €50million plus €10million in bonuses and Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi could be included in the deal.

"No, I don't know anything about this".

"Chelsea and Roma have reached an agreement on principles on Emerson Palmieri", he tweeted this afternoon.

Dzeko was named in the starting line-up for Sunday's crunch clash against Inter, amid speculation it could be his Roma farewell, and director of football Monchi addressed the situation before kick-off. "I've no information to that effect", Redzepagic told

"As I said before: in this period there is a transfer market, if something happens, you know".

The 23-year-old has only made 47 appearances for the Giallorossi in three seasons, and has just returned to the first team after serious injury.

"No disrespect to them, because they are very good at what they do, but I don't think Chelsea are going to be going down that route".

Roma legend Francesco Totti has teased Edin Dzeko amid speculation he will move to Chelsea this month.

Palmieri would add to boss Antonio Conte's left-back and left-wing back options, as Spaniard Marcos Alonso now has very little competition in those positions at the club.
