Clashes with Israel wound over 200 Palestinians

On Thursday, two 16-year-old Palestinian children died in clashes with Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank.

Three other Palestinians were wounded, one critically, it said.

Soldiers manning a checkpoint outside the village opened fire without warning, said Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors illegal Israeli settlement activities in the northern West Bank.

The Israeli forces justified the killing by accusing Qeeno of being the main instigator of attacks that saw Palestinian youths hurling rocks at the soldiers.

Ankara has strongly condemned the Israeli announcement about the construction of more than 1,100 homes in West Bank settlements.

The mission of the European Union in Ramallah and Jerusalem on Friday expressed its concern after the recent arrests of Palestinian minors by Israeli authorities and the death of a teenager shot by Israeli forces.

Israeli settlements violate the Fourth Geneva Convention, which states that an occupying power can not transfer its population into the territory it occupies.

Since US President Donald Trump controversially recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital, to the outrage of the Arab world, rocket fire from Gaza has barraged Israel's southern communities.

Israel's occupation of East Jerusalem effectively put the entire city under de facto Israeli control.

"The position of the European Union on Israeli settlement construction and related activities is clear and has not changed; any settlement activity is illegal under global law and undermines the viability of the two-state solution and the prospect of lasting peace, "said an EU spokesperson for Foreign Affairs in a statement".
