That was a relief for Chara, the big Bruins defenceman who owns one of the NHL's hardest shots. Sometimes we all get hit somewhere in the upper body.

After three competitive periods of play and overtime could not determine a victor, the Bruins took down Montreal in the shootout, with Brad Marchand scoring on Boston's fourth attempt of the night to close out the win.

Danault was moving and speaking to medical staff before he left the ice, to an ovation from the Bell Centre crowd.

Danault lay on the ice for several minutes before being taken away on a stretcher. He was taken to the hospital for further exams. "He is awake and moving".

After the game, Montreal coach Claude Julien said Danault is expected to remain in the hospital overnight and will be re-evaluated Sunday.?

Chara understandably was left shaken by the incident and was the first player to have words with Danault as he was taken off the ice. As Danault was leaving the ice, Chara went over and said something to him.

"You know there's a rivalry that exists and that's twice now I've switched sides of that rivalry so I guess I could say I'm a little used to it but it's always special when you face your old team". "So I was glad that he was doing OK". He is in his third full National Hockey League season.

3 - Number of consecutive games in which captain Max Pacioretty has found the back of the net after getting the Canadiens on the board early on Saturday night with his 11th goal of the season at the 3:22 mark of the opening frame. Marchand lifted the offering past Price for his 18th goal of the season.
