Arsenal are now fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-place Liverpool.

That's kind of the message implied here by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, as he answered a transfer window related query ahead of the big London derby tomorrow night. From the first until the last minute, our concentration was very high, there was never a minute we dropped a little bit our focus'.

He added: "We have a squad that is equipped to deal with injuries-we've shown that in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.but we can not lose any more players now". When you are as close as that, it's impossible to play football.

Sanchez, who has failed to agree a new contract with the Gunners, will be free to negotiate with other clubs in January, with his contract expiration date set in June.

Reports have emerged that Arsenal will target Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the coming weeks should Alexis Sanchez make a long-anticipated departure to Manchester City.

When Arsenal went to Chelsea on 17 September there were gloomy predictions that they would be rolled over yet again, especially with no Ozil in the team and Sanchez on the bench.

Wenger said: 'Two weeks ago we conceded a goal that was not marginally offside, it was a yard offside and nobody found a word to say. We have to take that and respond to it. "We are open in any position for the exceptional player who can give us a plus".

West Brom boss Alan Pardew admits Arsenal got a tough break when his team benefitted from a soft penalty call to earn a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on Sunday. Wenger said Ozil would have a test later on Tuesday, but added: "He hasn't been out at all since Crystal Palace, so I don't know". We will do, but I can't say when.

Arsenal's players protested both at the time of the decision and after the final whistle when Cech was booked and Wenger spoke to Dean.
