Today the interwebs are buzzing as Apple's HomePod Has An Official Release Date.

Apple's smart speaker, the HomePod is now available to order in a total of three countries, including the USA and no, the release date waiting period is not going to be as excruciating as when consumers had to wait for the iPhone X. "We think they will be blown away by the audio quality", according to Philip Schiller, Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing.

HomePod when integrated with HomeKit enabled devices can also be used to turn on lights, adjust the thermostat, unlock doors or raise window shades. The Siri now supports American, Australian, and British varieties of English at the moment so even if your second language is English, you will be able to use it without facing issues.

"Reminders, note-taking and to-do list apps, like Things and Evernote, will automatically work with HomePod, so Siri can set reminders, create a new list, mark items as complete or create and modify notes".

While Apple has not specified the time at which HomePod goes on sale, the product didn't go live on Apple's own website at midnight PT. The deal will be available starting today, for a limited time only in the United Kingdom and US. It is also available through EE.

As if the $199 Sonos One wasn't already a better value than the soon to be released Apple HomePod, Sonos just added insult to injury by announcing a special "Sonos Two" bundle that includes two Sonos One systems for $349.
