They gave her to a family in Prague, Oklahoma.

Cathleen, a Great Pyrenees mix, had been given up after her family in Seminole County, Oklahoma, US, moved home and didn't have the space to look after her anymore, US television station KCCI reported.

Not only did Cathleen make this trip once, but she walked 20 miles twice!

So the dog, named Cathleen, went to a home in Prague until the animal shelter could find a new owner.

A dog walked 20 miles from one town to another twice to get back to her family that had moved.

Shelter employee Lynzi Thompson reportedly described the caring canine as a "love bug" and "very calm and docile".

"Her heart wants to be with them but they can not keep her".

'Cathleen is precious and her original family loved her very much.

On Friday, the shelter announced that Cathleen now has a new home in Texas. If you're unable to adopt, animal shelters could always use more volunteers to help with a variety of tasks, so be sure check out our guide to volunteering! "We have now stepped in to assist Cathleen on her next journey".

The shelter received a lot of adoption applications after Cathleen's story was shared across social media.
