Tributes poured in yesterday for "inspirational" Thames Valley Police officer James Dixon, who starred in the TV show Road Wars.

Thousands have so far already been raised to help the families of both victims at this bad time.

Their next of kin have been informed.

"We are raising money in memory of Police Constable James Dixon who sadly died on Duty on December 5th 2017", the JustGiving page says.

And a fourth added: "Such sad news about PC Dixson".

The woman was a passenger in the auto driven by another woman who was injured and taken to hospital.

On Twitter, Ryan Sheehan said: "Growing up I was a big fan of PC James "Dixie" Dixon and his @tvprp colleagues as they featured in #RoadWars".

She added: "Heard so many great things about him today, we truly have lost an awesome officer". It's well respected officers like PC Dixon that inspire me to be a Police Officer. Thoughts go out to his family friends and all at TVP.
