If this is true, Galaxy X will set a new benchmark in the smartphone market, provided it wins the race to debut first, as arch-rival Apple is not too far behind and filed similar patent at United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) last month on November 23. Android Headlines says the screen looks more like the super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) one found on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. The blog - which is generally very accurate with regards to Samsung leaks - suggests that the Galaxy S9 will be available in four different colour options: black, gold, blue, and purple.

While a new color variant could be in the works for the Galaxy S9 duo, it may not be available for all carriers or regions.

The South Korean tech company has recently filed a patent for a technology that uses palm scanning as a means of verifying a user's identity on future Galaxy smartphones. The bezel-less design and the removal of the home button will also bring the Galaxy A series closer to Samsung's Galaxy S flagships when it comes to the aspect. That never happened but now the rumors are surfacing again for the Galaxy S9. Don't expect drastic design changes with the Galaxy S9.

In terms of rumoured specifications, the Galaxy S9 would feature a 5.8-inch Infinity display, along with 12MP and 16MP dual cameras to the front and rear.

Samsung already lets you unlock your phone by scanning your fingerprint and your iris, but it's now thinking of other ways to secure your device - and it involves palmistry.

Even if the reports are wrong, we are glad to know that Samsung is reacting faster to Android updates.
