Saif also said a shift in the release date might be considered if Padmavati clashes with his film.

"If Padmavati comes in, we will think of shifting our release date".

The film was initially supposed to release on September 8, 2017, however, it got delayed. "Kaalakaandi is a film I am proud of", says Khan, who has explored uncharted territories with the Akshat Verma film.

The film which already had it's share of tiff with Censor Board and delays will now hit theatres on January 12th.

The trailer of Saif Ali Khan's Kaalakaandi was launched on Wednesday, and it looks like a lot of fun. "I think the palette of the film was a little western, I have also got some good reviews, but then some things are really not in your control". Saif Ali Khan's mind-boggling hairstyle will make you think what kind of role he plays in the movie. "I'll keep working and hopefully, things will fall into place". He said it would be nice to see his film release with the magnum opus Padmavati.

When asked how he feels about his daughter's film releasing the same year as his, Saif told reporters here, "I am happy, I am excited for her".

Saif will begin 2018 with his upcoming release Kaalakaandi, while Sara's debut feature film Kedarnath will open in December the same year. "But filmmakers are wary about it and you need to take that into consideration", he said. "They were all good actors and I think my acting has improved after working with some of these guys". You are going to Bigg Boss or Comedy Nights or something and talk about the movie because you feel that will help.

The thrilling dark comedy is the story of six characters from different worlds, urban, ambitious Mumbai and its dark, neglected underbelly.
