Police have reached the spot to carry out rescue operations.

However, CNN-News18 reported that the bus was being driven by an underage driver. This caused him to break the railing of the bridge and plunge into the river below. The bus was ferrying passengers from Lal Soth to Sawai Madhopur.

According to the police, the incident took place early in the morning when driver of the bus lost control over the wheels and the bus fell down into 100 feet Morel river.

Twenty-seven bodies have been recovered and five injured rushed to hospitals, Singh said, adding he also said 10 bodies were handed over to their family members after post-mortem. "State government is closely monitoring the situation, including rescue operations, and providing all possible assistance to those affected", he tweeted.

"It's heart-wrenching to hear about the bus accident at Dubi Banas. I directed them to address the needs of the survivors and their kin immediately", she said.
