PM Modi condoles death of actor-director Neeraj Vora

Film maker Ashok Pandit has confirmed this news and told to media, "Neeraj Vora died today at 3 am in Criti Care hospital in Juhu". A year ago amidst the filming of "Hera Pheri 3", Neeraj suffered a heart attack. "It's a sad and mournful Hera Pheri this time in the kingdom of Bollywood". Vora had directed films like "Shortkut: The Con Is On", "Phir Hera Pheri", "Khiladi 420".

Neeraj had an acting stint on television with shows like "Circus" and "Naya Nukkad", while on the film front, he made the audience laugh with roles in "Daud: Fun on the Run", "Hello Brother", "Bol Bachchan" and "Welcome Back".


Several celebrities turned up to bid adieu to him at filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala's house, where Vora had been staying since October 2016 after slipping into a coma. Aamir Khan starrer "Rangeela" was his major Bollywood success.

Reacting Vora's death Hera Pheri actor Akshay Kumar said, "One of the main reasons behind my foray into comedy, saddened to hear about the demise of #NeerajVora a multi-talented man, writer, director, actor.a mini industry by himself, learnt so much from him".


Early tributes and condolences to Neeraj Vora from the film world included names like Paresh Rawal and Rahul Dholakia. An energetic and creative personality, he will be remembered for his films and warm nature. Then for the Hare Pheri, film reviewer Taran Adarsh said, "Vora's dialogue, as always, is excellent!"

Vora was prepared to direct Hera Ferry III, but after the departure of actors John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Sunil Shetty due to conflict with Vora, Ahmed Khan was replaced. His father, a classical musician, used to play Veena. A lot of students from his school used to attend music coaching classes conducted by his father, who insisted on teaching classical Indian music while Neeraj would sneakily teach them how to play film songs on harmonium.
