Prince Uche Secondus bounced back to become the new national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in its much anticipated elective national convention which ended in Abuja on Sunday, with the new party boss immediately serving a warning to All Progressive Congress (APC) that it is a one-term government.

Mr. Secondus was followed by a former Minister of Education, Tunde Adeniran, who scored a total vote of 231 votes, while the duo of Raymond Dokpesi and Taoheed Adedoja scored 66 and 0 votes respectively.

Some of the contenders in the PDP Chairmanship race, including Chief Raymond Dokpesi, had described the electoral process that produced Uche Secondus as Chairman, as fraudulent.

Mr Chukwu described the PDP Chairman as the right man for the job because; his past activities did not only inspire confidence, but also proved that he is a committed party man who is ready to take bullet for the party at any time.

Before the election, Secondus was a deputy national chairman of the party and was touted as the PDP's longest-serving official, having risen through the ranks since 1999.

"Together we shall change the change and burn the brooms in 2019".

He emerged victor of the elective convention of the PDP which came to an end in the early hours of today.

His words: "Let me encourage those who are still passing through persecution that the persecution will expire one day, that they should remain strong and we will surely get this thing".

He said that the process of voting had been rigged following the distribution of the list, which contained names of candidates believed to have won elections into various positions in the party at the convention.

Awoniyi commended the convention standing committee and all the other sub-committees for putting up a very good show, saying: "I am sure the outcome of the convention will excite so many people and will also give some people concern".

"I appreciate the delegates for voting at the convention and congratulate the newly-elected national working committee of the PDP led by Secondus".

"We reject it in its entirety. Congratulations PDP as I wish all our members the best of luck".
