On Twitter, the developer has revealed that they'll be some kind of Tomb Raider event in 2018 to introduce the game, and it hints that will release shortly after the official reveal. That's pretty much the extent of it though. Light on detail, it goes on to state simply that a new Tomb Raider game is coming, and that fans can expect an official reveal soon with a "major event" in 2018.

Additionally, Square Enix announced that "it won't be very long between the official reveal and when you can play". This is because Square Enix says it is taking a "new approach" for the upcoming Lara Croft adventure.

Of course, there's also the possibility that someone in Square Enix's PR department is just messing with us and the game will be titled something else entirely. Camilla Luddington provided the voice and motion capture for the character in the game as well as its 2015 follow-up, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Fortunately, that changed today when the dealer announced that a new Lara Croft adventure is on our way. This announcement makes no direct mention of the game's title, but interestingly enough, the first letter of each sentence actually spells out the word "SHADOW".
