Salah's astronomical rise led to him being named the Africa Player of the Year award earlier this week, ahead of fellow Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

He scored twice against West Ham, Southampton and Stoke City and also scored Liverpool's only goal in the (1-1) draw against his former team, Chelsea.

Salah beat Robbie Brady, Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Eden Hazard and Shkodran Mustafi to the award after scoring seven goals in his four games.

Salah is the Premier League's top scorer with 13 goals.

The former Roma standout becomes the first Egyptian to win the award and follows Sadio Mane, the August award victor, as Liverpool's second Player of the Month victor this season.

"I took Mo Salah off as he had a hamstring a little bit, ' Klopp said after the Everton match".

The Premier League Player and Manager of the Month winners was selected by a combination of votes from a panel of experts and the public.

Mohamed Salah has also been chosen by fans to win Liverpool's "Player of the Month" award for November, making it his third win in just four months.

For the Manager of the Month for November, the award went to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Indeed, after Salah was named BBC African Footballer of the Year, Pele congratulated the Liverpool forward on the feat.
