Lane Kiffin 'Would Love to Play Bama' After Conference USA Championship Win

The Owls went undefeated in C-USA play this year.

It's FAU's second Conference USA title - the first coming in 2007 while a member of the Sun Belt.

FAU redshirt junior quarterback Jason Driskel (16) makes a pass downfield looking for a player to score a touchdown.

Meanwhile, arguably the best defensive performances in program history rendered North Texas, the second-best C-USA offense behind FAU, impotent in the first half, limiting the Mean Green to 141 yards of offense and battering Mason Fine, sacking him five times. "Anthony Bennett, who's a walk-on, got a sack".

FAU redshirt senior wide receiver Kalib Woods (4) and FAU redshirt junior tight end Dustin Bowens (10) celebrate Woods touchdown during the first quarter.

FAU led 27-0 at halftime and 34-0 in the middle of the third quarter before UNT mounted what turned out to be an incomplete mini-comeback.

The North Texas Mean Green are 3-3 while on the road this season, 7-1 against conference opponents and 2-2 against non-conference opponents. Singletary led the way with 164 yards.

"I would love to play Alabama", Kiffin said during his postgame press conference, "I'd feel sorry for our players, but I'd like it".

Lane Kiffin has become a master troll of late, but the Florida Atlantic University head coach reminded us Saturday that he hasn't totally escaped reality.

FAU will learn on Sunday which bowl they'll be playing in.
