How to Use Instagram's Newest Featuring: Following Hashtags

Instagram has always been a social network where you follow friends and creators, but today it's evolving with a new way to follow hashtags so you see top posts and Stories about a topic on your home page. Now it's even easier to stay connected with the interests, hobbies, passions and communities you care about.

'To get started, search for a topic you're interested in or tap on a hashtag from any post, ' the blog continues.

So if you've gone completely ham and followed way too many hashtags and now your feed is an absolute cluttered mess that you want to fix up immediately, I feel you.


Hashtags posts on your feed will also have prominent button above it.

Hashtags are key to discoverability on Instagram, as Engadget Editor Dan Cooper discovered when he spent a month trying to accumulate 100,000 followers on the service. If an account is private, only the people following that account will be able to see which hashtags the account follows, as is already the case with non-hashtag follows. You can find some interesting hashtags to follow by looking at the ones that other Instagram users list on their profiles.

Twitter says the "threads" feature will be available on iOS, Android, and Twitter.com in the coming weeks. Users can then follow the hashtag from this page.


Instagram has rolled out the ability for users to follow hashtags on their feed.

Currently, there are two main ways to find photos and videos with a certain hashtag.

Also, following hashtags, does not count as following people.


Before, if you wanted to get your #doggo fix, you'd have to manually search all public photos.
