Most importantly, this new update will notify you when to get off your bus or train when you're closer to your stop. The update delivers interactive real-time notifications and live guidance when you're traveling. You can search in advance for transit directions in Google Maps, but now you'll have the option to start the journey and then get live updates as you walk or ride on your local buses and trains. They are interactive so you can easilly scroll through the alerts.

Google Maps is introducing a new feature that makes it nearly impossible to miss your stop on public transit.

After searching for transit directions in Google Maps, users will be able to press a "start" button at the bottom the screen that will offer more details about the journey.

Google Maps now shows the real-time updated directions when you travel in a bus or train.

We are very excited that Google Maps rolled up this update and we hope we shall soon have it in Nepal as well. With that update, you can now park your vehicle, open Google Maps, and tap on the blue location dot.

With this update, transit notifications become a bit more like using Maps for walking, biking and driving, the report said.

The interface will not only save your current location; it will also add a big "P" icon on the map. Google also added a "Time Left" field if there is a parking space; this will let you set "time left" that will count down the time remaining.

If you've ever had to use public transportation, you would know how stressful it can be making sure that you get off at the correct stop, especially if you haven't used the particular route before.
